(30 April 2009)
Hey!
Just a quick little update as Spring has properly arrived here in London, always a great time of year, people are out, things seem possible.. It's a good feeling don't you agree? Stuff is picking up too, more work, more gigs etc.. I had the pleasure of visiting Zürich (with Jamie Scott & The Town) for the first time earlier this month and what a posh and clean place that is.
Anyway, a few things; I'm now on Twitter as the rest of the losers who think the world won't function without even more useless info being pumped into it... Nah, just kidding, if you're interested hit me up here:
Twitter - I'll try not to bore you.
Also, after playing about 10 gigs in March and another good handful here in April I'm again out and about in May, confirmed gigs coming up are:
06 May 2009, 20:00 - Loom Bar, Clipstone Street, London W1W 6BB, £5 (£3 guest list!)
17 May 2009, 21:00 - The Phoenix Pub, 37 Cavendish Square, Oxford Circus, London W1G OPP, FREE
21 May 2009, 21:00 - The Pumphouse, 1 New River Avenue, Hornsey, London N8 7QD, FREE
24 May 2009, 15:00 - Diversion Studios, London Bridge, London SE1 (private party)
27 May 2009, 21:00 - Powers Bar, 332 Kilburn High Road, London, NW6 2QN, FREE

We're still in the process of compiling the TRY ME single, now looks like we're gonna have 4-5 remixes on it. I have received excellent work from top world engineer and producer
Steve Orchard (George Martin, Travis, U2, Paul McCartney etc) and the legend that is
Jon Auer of The Posies, one of my favourite bands of all time. Both have done me a huge favor in remixing TRY ME and giving their time to this project. Still waiting for another couple and I'll also be adding a couple of sweet bonus tracks from the 'FACTION sessions'.
Apart from the gigs and the bits and bobs May looks chocker, in my spare time this month I'll be on the set of Gulliver's Travels, mainly at Pinewood playing a Royal Trumpeteer, yes, you heard right.. Jack Black is Gulliver so should be fun, I'll try fill you in if 20th Century Fox doesn't take me out.. ;-)
Peace and may the force be with you, and remember it's all bullshit, there is no war on terror, there is no swine flu, there's only what you have here on your hands so make sure you play your cards right, enjoy!

• Update March 2009! •
(03 March 2009)
Hello everyone!
So much for an update a month but hey February was short this year no...? I actually used to dream about having my birthday 10 days later (mine's 19th) as it would then have been 29th of Feb and I would have 'stayed young forever'... BUT then I wouldn't have been writing this to you now and you wouldn't have been reading and... you know what I mean......
Anyway, February I kicked it off with a gig at The Pumphouse in North London, ended up playing a full 12 songs as none of the other artists showed up.... I must mention it was the evening when London was hit by the heaviest snow fall for almost a generation. Not a mention of wrong type of snow here... ;-)
I did another two gigs in Feb, one at a little pub near Warren Street called The Tower Tavern and yet another at The Pumphouse. These were really good nights, felt much more confident and the set's really starting to flow. I'm writing this as I have booked a good string of small intimate gigs/showcase nights for March, just me with the acoustic, trying out new songs and making sense of the old ones, so if around and out and about you can catch me on these following dates.
Henrik ‘acoustic in London’, March 2009:
03 Mar 2009, 20:30 @ Tommy Flynn’s, 55 Camden High Street, Camden, London NW1 7JH - £4
05 Mar 2009, 22:00 @ The Edinburgh Cellers, 125 Newington Green Road, Islington, London N1 4RA - FREE
18 Mar 2009, 20:00 @ Powers Bar, 332 Kilburn High Road, Kilburn, London NW6 2QN - FREE
19 Mar 2009, 21:30 @ The Pumphouse, 1 New River Avenue, Hornsey, London N8 7QD - FREE
24 Mar 2009, 20:00 @ The Eagle, 2 Sheperdess Walk, City Road, Old Street, London N1 7LB - FREE
26 Mar 2009, 20:45 @ The Camden Eye, 2 Kentish Town Road, Camden, London NW1 9NX - FREE
29 Mar 2009, 19:00 @ The Phoenix Pub, 37 Cavendish Square, Oxford Circus, London W1G OPP - FREE
I'll of course have hard copies of FACTION with me on these nights so hit me up if you want a copy and please refer to my
Myspace profile for updates/changes etc.

We're also moving closer to the release of the next single and it’s going to be TRY ME. The song was featured last month on
THE WORD CD so some of you might know it already. I think it's one of the more accessible songs on FACTION hence us releasing it as a single. I have a little handful of friends that are remixing it as we speak and having heard one of these already I can honestly say, you will not be disappointed. It’s basically mint! A video will also be shot so this next month will be full steam ahead.
Stay tuned and speak soon!
Henrik

____________
Now, let's recap:
This November gone saw the release of my debut album

Pete Lazonby's mint 'International Space Station' remix, available worldwide on all
Itunes stores.
For the moment FACTION is only officially out in the UK. To buy directly from me please visit

____________
Late in November I again had the pleasure of playing bass for US singer/songwriter
Kim Richey. We did a handful of gigs in and around London with full band, flutes and all. Thanks to everyone who came and saw my own set I did with Alex Dickson & Paul Winter-Hart (as support for Kim) at
The Borderline on 27th.
In December I teamed up with
Farrah frontman
Jez Ashurst,
Kula Shaker drummer Paul Winter-Hart, Kim and Farrah member/producer & wizard
Andrew Campbell at
Diversion Studios in London Bridge to record my song 'IT'S CHRISTMAS BUT LISTEN!' for the 7 track Lojinx EP
CHRISTMAS PRESENT, a FREE download for the festive season of 2008. If for some random reason you're still spinning 'Last Christmas' etc. the EP is still available
here. BTW by New Years Eve over 4000 people had downloaded the EP so thanks to all of you.
Before we got to the end of the year I had the slightly surreal pleasure of reuniting with my old 'school band' The Royals. We did a one-off show at
Galaksen just outside Copenhagen, Denmark on 27th December. Thanks to Morten, Anemonemand & everyone who came and made the evening a special one for me, Kasper, Nicolai and Michael. There'll be some more Royals or
(Royalz) action when the time is right.
____________
So here we are in 2009. News this week is that the kind people of
THE WORD have my song 'TRY ME' on the
CD that's out with the latest issue (February) of the magazine. Other artists on the CD incl.
The Fireman aka Paul McCartney & Youth,
The Milk & Honey Band and Swedish songbird Nina Persson's solo project
A Camp. WORD man Rob Fitzpatrick also wrote a cool review of FACTION back in the December issue and in the next update we'll bring the best bits of the wide range of reviews FACTION has received over the last couple of months. Stay tuned!
I know this went on a bit so many thanks for reading. Pick up
THE WORD or even better a copy of the album, it's the weather for it init... also try spin it with Big Brother on the telly (without sound!) it might just take you to THAT place....
Happy January to everyone!
