• Debut album FACTION out today in the UK! • (03 November 2008)
Hi there!

Not only is it the week of The US election but it's also, and more importantly, the week of the release of my album FACTION. Yes it's out today in the UK on old fashioned digipack CD (incl. 2 bonus songs) so pop into your local HMV and see if they stock it. It's also available from Itunes (only the UK store at the moment) and Amazon + all other good download sites.

I will though suggest if you're really into the music that you buy the CD direct from me over at Lojinx @ only £8.50 incl. P&P and we're shipping worldwide!

FACTION:

A couple of years in the making using the very basics of garageband and a wee bit of pro-tools to beef it at the end. Main instruments were my farfisa, micro korg, bass and acoustic guitar straight into the back of the Mac with overdubs sponsored by my dear friends; Alex, Caroline, Ben, Paul, Tim C, Erik, Thorunn, Tim, Luke and Guy wherever they happened to be at the time, sometimes at mine. Artwork was in the hands of Danish artist Wendy Plovmand and the response has been amazing, now I only hope the music does it justice ha!

Lastly I hope that everyone's well, happy and busy, any questions or dead links etc please let me know.

Enjoy!

• 'This Time' is out on Itunes worldwide today Monday 22nd September 2008! • (22 September 2008)
Hi there!

After the FACTION launch at Nambucca on Saturday (big thanks to everyone who came!) and the Limp-Power charity gig at JAMM in Brixton last night I'm happy to tell you that the single 'This Time' is available on Itunes worldwide as of Monday 22nd September 2008... yes, it's today love!

Tracklisting is:

1. This Time
2. This Time (acoustic)
3. This Time (Pete Lazonby ISS mix)

The acoustic version I did live with Scottish guitar genius Alex Dickson at Diversion Studios, London Bridge a few weeks back, well we did the main guitars and vocal live, then dubbed the Rhodes, an electric guitar and the bv's. Pete Lazonby very kindly came back with his International Space Station (ISS) mix and I think it really hits and beef the Scandi vibe of the song.

If you still haven't seen the video you can find it here on the site or over on YouTube.

That's it for now, sign up to the mailing list at the top of this page to stay in touch.

Enjoy!

• Single 'This Time' is track of the day on Q Magazine's website! • (04 September 2008)
Oui!

The people over at Q Magazine have been very kind to choose 'This Time' as the track of the day on their website, read more here, The Q Daily

There's been a few other online press things popping up with more info, another couple of links to the video + exclusive web track ‘Know Where I’ll Be’ can be streamed. I’ll make that track proper available at some point in the future.

• Video for 'This Time' is up! • (26 August 2008)
The video for my first single, 'This Time' is up now! The single (with bonus 'acoustic version' and Pete Lazonby's ISS mix) will be available from this page and on Lojinx from 22nd of September. If you for some random reason would rather see the main bulk of your dough go to Itunes, Amazon or another ancient relic, it's also available from those sites.

Anyway, we did about 37 takes but ended up using the test shoot from a couple of days previously, and yes, I'm now trying to live my life like that... no rehearsals (or just that?), live life as it comes every second rather than prepare and think too much... kinda tricky but fun trying out I suppose...

Also, a bit of press is slowly filtering through, I'll blog tomorrow again with links, also for the non-album track 'Know Where I'll Be' which is an old acoustic-thigh-slapping-type-of-thing.

Now, enjoy the wonder of one take technology!

• Update on a couple of side projects! • (25 July 2008)
Henrik - Matthew Jay sessions, Berry Studios, 18/5-2007 Henrik - Matthew Jay sessions, Berry Studios, 18/5-2007 Henrik - Matthew Jay sessions, Berry Studios, 8/8-2007 Henrik - Matthew Jay Sessions, Berry Studios, 8/8-2007 News just in is that an album I played bass on last year ‘Further Than Tomorrow’ by the late Matthew Jay has a 4 star review in the August edition of Q Magazine.

The album came into being because the estate of Matthew Jay wanted people to hear the demos that he’d put down for his second album before his untimely death in 2003. These recordings were handed to my friend Diogo Vasconcellos aka Vasco who arranged them and we then beefed the songs in rehearsals. The 12 chosen songs were then proper recorded over 3 sessions in 2007 with producer Curtis Schwartz at his Berry Studios in Surrey, England.

Apart from being an emotional and surreal experience, I mean it’s not everyday that you rehearse or record with a dead mans voice in the PA or in the cans, I again got the chance to record with my good old friend Andy Maclure, we did  Kim Richey’s album in January 2007 and Andy also helped me out with my Royalz’ session for the recording of ‘Every Bitter Drop’ for ‘Beautiful Escape: The Songs of The Posies Revisited’, both albums now on Itunes.

Anyway, rumour has it that a major label might be proper releasing ‘Further Than Tomorrow’, I’ll be in touch if that happens.

Enjoy the rest of July!

• Mastering of 'FACTION' at Air Studios! • (25 February 2008)
Thought I'd let everyone know that I just got back from the last mastering session with Giles Martin at Air Studios. The 10 songs that make up FACTION are in the can. Hurrah! Today we also beefed the tracks 'To Believe' and 'Okay' that will be bonus songs on the CD version of the album. They feature my dear friends CatHead and Luke Potashnick repectively.

Can't wait to present this album to you, hang in there!
