• Merry X-mas! • (25 December 2007)
Hello,

Just a quick one to wish everyone a happy christmas and a great new year. What a year it's been, never been busier with music than now. Needless to say I'm most chuffed with finishing me own album 'Faction', been a couple of years in the making but it's turned out a rather neat, close-up, warm, introspective (hopefully not too much!) little collection of songs. The artwork is in the hands of Danish artist Wendy Plovmand and just the other week I was approached by UK indie label Lojinx to put it out through them in 2008. All very exciting me think and I can't wait to get started..... actually it's started already, it's always starting isn't.... no, it's always going, that's it, we're always going.... somewhere..... whether we want to or not.... whaaaat? you know what I mean ; )

Keep it real, and don't forget to vote with your wallet.

'Here's to the future my friends, whatever it holds in store, I hope that each day from now on holds more.....' Ken Stringfellow.

Henrik - With Karl Brazil @ iTunes Festival 2007 It's been a while and a lot stuff has gone down here in Los UK, where to start, where to start...?

Oh yeah, I've finished my album 'Faction', years in the making but with last minute infusions from various (very!) helpful people, it's now officially done. We're working on cover now and if I'm not too busy baking, cleaning or something third, the album will be available here and on the various digital outlets Itunes, Napster etc. not too long into the new year. I am also looking into prober distribution but more on that later. Song list for 'Faction' is:

1. Hey Ho! (Dickson/Henrik)
2. Any Old Day
3. Try Me
4. Isit?
5. Giving
6. This Sound
7. Carmex
8. This Time
9. About You Today
10. 10 Seconds

Also, as you might know I've joined Jamie Scott & The Town, done a lot this summer, the various festivals, Ireland, Scotland & Germany. The album 'Park Bench Theories' is out on Polydor so go get your copy. We're off to Germany supporting Take That (don't tell anyone!) today but it's gonna be good to play the set in a big setting and no doubt help build a following on the Continent.

Actually this turned out short but that's it for now, hope everyone out there is doing what they're meant to be doing, and don't forget to vote with your wallet!

Henrik - Kim Richey session at East Cote, January 2007 Here we go…. time is moving at an insane speed eh? 1st of March already, jeez, wasn't it just Christmas? Anyway, did an hour 'cloud-watching' this morning with Caroline through our bedroom windows, well, the one on the right. Weird shapes came and went, pretty sure that the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters walked over Hampstead Heath and through The Village a couple of times… I feel it's already a good day, what about you? Bar the mad situation between Police and the 'dirty' youth of Copenhagen of course, but hey, the Government must have seen it coming (they sold the building that's been 'housing the youth' of Copenhagen for 25 years to some religious organisation… Pythonesque I know!) Maybe if it had just been the messed up rich kids coming in from the suburbs to let go of their frustrations, the current (fascist?) right-wing government of DK would have kept the thing going, maybe even installed and funded a sensible shoot-up room with a dental-care unit at hand??!!… I actually think that would have been a very good idea, they should definitely try it over here. Isn't it time we as a human race took some chances, I mean, we know the Universe will take care of everything in the end, there really isn't that much to do right or wrong, only our own ideas about the two…. And do they work? Hmmm…

Who cares?… it's a good day, actually, it's a great day!

Anyway, I wanted to give you an update….

Kim Richey's album was a treat to do and it's sounding great. Andy Maclure and I finished our basic bass and drum tracks at Eastcote studios around mid-January, Giles Martin and Kim beefed stuff further there and went on to AIR to overdub more vocals and guitars etc… very happy that me mate Alex Dickson got involved in the end, he could easily be the best guitarist in the country. I'll let you know when the album's out etc, think it'll be July. I'd love to play those songs again sometime… Kim?….. Kim??

For my own album I still have two songs to wrap and mix but will get down to that in the next two weeks… if the stars align maybe even earlier. I'm recruiting friends back home to help me with the cover, and I have a few cool ideas…. simple but effective as they say… can't wait to have it wrapped and ready to zip. Talk of DK, I'm going back in a couple of weeks to jam with new friends in Copenhagen, don't know what will happen of course, but the outset/overall idea is a new and fresh power-pop unit… the sounds we have in mind stem from say Jellyfish, Raconteurs, The Lads etc…. basically as much singing as possible…. will be in touch on that one if the spirit of the project decides to join us here on earth.

Another new thing, I've joined forces (once again!) with two good friends of mine, Karl Brazil and Luke Potashnick. We've been recruited as the rhythm section of new band The Town, we've done some rehearsing, and did two songs last Wednesday at Kensal Town Studios in Kensal Road, but that's kinda all I can say right now…. but keep an eye out for The Town in the not too distant future….

Love
